In those two decades, Kotter detected a significant shift in what is required to succeed but notes that many are still attempting to use old strategies. The globalization of markets and competition is driving the shift and that those who do well today have “capitalized on globalization by pursuing career paths that are less linear, more dynamic, and more unstable.”
